What is Most Rated?

Most Rated is a website that helps promote new music through an Internet radio station, organised around the local music scene. Artists submit material, which is then collated together to provide a continuous stream of music, selected at random. Listeners can then vote for their favourites. The most rated tracks are selected more often, and the most rated artists are invited to play at our live events.

Why should I rate?

By rating tracks, you help artists on your local scene:

  1. The higher that a track is rated, the more often it gets played on the radio stream. This helps others to discover the best music on the local scene, and helps the artists gain exposure.
  2. At the end of each month, we count all the ratings and invite the most rated artists to perform at a showcase event, held at stylish local venues. Artists are paid, filmed and recorded, the resulting footage is then included on our video section.
Can someone rate on track more than once?
What's to stop someone from cheating?

When a user signs-up, they verify that they have a real e-mail account through our activation process. This ensures that an actual person has signed up with a unique e-mail address. Our system tracks ratings from each user account, so that each rating is counted only once.

At the end of each month, we archive old ratings so that users can rate a track again for the following month.

How much does it cost to join?

It is completely free to become a member of Most Rated.

Why isn't my local area listed as a scene?
When are you going to add X to the scene list?

Most Rated showcases the best new music on the local scene. We work with local venues and promoters to organise regular events that showcase the most rated artist on that scene. As we source new venues, we will add scenes to Most Rated.

If you are a venue or promoter who is interested in arranging a Most Rated event, please contact us.

Should I join as an Artist or a Listener?

If you are a musician who is currently active on your local scene, have material in digital format to upload and are available to play at our live events, then you ought to sign-up as an Artist. Please note that by taking part in Most Rated you agree with our terms and conditions, and are willing to participate in a live event.

If you are not a musician or are not currently available to play our live events then you should sign-up as a Listener.

Can I skip a track?

No. Most Rated streams the music to all the listeners, so that everyone hears the same music, like a conventional radio station. This enables shared discussion via the ratings, comments and social media.
